That one time I basically started bawling during class.

IT'S YOUS-DAY TUESDAY FOLKS!!
(just pretend cuz... I haven't done one of these in a while. ;))

1. I've officially lost it. Yesterday as I was walking to devotional I thought to myself,
"Wow. The temperature actually feels pretty good right now!"
I then got out my phone only to discover that the current temp was a whopping 21 degrees.
#somethingisseriouslywrongwithme

2. My ward is currently doing a "workout competition" where apartments earn points for each person that works out 45 minutes a day. (Which is rather convenient because my family is currently doing a similar sort of thing.) So, my apartment has been committed to spending 45 minutes each day doing Just Dance. I'm basically a pro now that I've been doing it for....two days now.
(and if you don't consider doing Just Dance a "work out," I BEG TO DIFFER.)

3. Classes are good. It's going to be a busy but good semester. (Or at least that's what I tell myself.) The class that I'm most excited about is my Doctrine and Covenants class taught by one of my Jerusalem Professors (Bro. Harper). I've only been once and I already feel like I've learned a ton!

4. I went to campus 3 hours before my class this morning just to get a parking space. And it wasn't even a very good parking space! My theory that parking wouldn't be so much of a hassle now that half the student population went on missions was more than slightly off. (Sadly.)

5. THIS is the video that we watched in one of my classes yesterday that made me tear up.
And "tearing up" is basically crying. And crying is basically bawling--hence the title,
"that one time I basically started bawling during class."

I really love that we get the opportunity to have religious and spiritual discussion in every subject at BYU.
To me-- it makes education feel even more rewarding.
It's the best.

Yousday Tuesday.

When I took a Human Development class a few years ago, I learned that babies prefer "attractive faces" over "unattractive" ones. As weird as that may sound - it definitely raises the question as to why my nephew Brandon seems to particularly love it each time I make the fishy face shown above.

The most I've ever spent on a single article of clothing? $139.42 (tax included). THIS is what I bought on Saturday. Was it worth it? YES. (...ask me again in three years.)

Tomorrow is the last day of my TELL 410 class. Last last day. INcluding the final. #HALLELUJAH.

Yesterday Alyssa asked me if I like "cream of wheat" I didn't think I'd ever had it. She gave me an instant bag of the stuff (brown sugar flavor) and I am indeed a fan. (Though it could just be that I really like brown sugar....)

I (along with my roommates) just asked a boy (3 boys) on a date (for a ward/stake date night activity) via message in a bottle. #we'resocool

Last night I had about 15 hours of sleep. #needed #notthetimetobegettingsick

As you may have noticed I've been all about the "hashtags" lately, so much so I decided to finally hop aboard the twitter bandwagon. We'll see how long I last :)
(shameless call for twitter followers: @freckledhan  ;))

Well, I'm exhausted and still needing lots of sleep!

If you're up for a good read, be sure to check out this article written by one of my Jerusalem center professors. Can't believe it's almost been a year since I left for Jerusalem!

Yousday Tuesday.

When I saw that someone built a snowman around our dear "Yellow Feather" Statue yesterday while on tour (see above), I literally started laughing so hard I couldn't even explain to the people on my golfcart what was so funny!

Even though there is no logical reason as to why: I don't like spaghetti noodles.
(I realize they taste the same as all other noodles, but for some reason I just don't like them.)

I've always wanted to dye my hair just to see what it would look like a different color, but I'm too afraid that after dying it once I'd never be able to stop.

Last friday I drove in snow for the very first time (at least from what I can remember...).

Our dishwasher currently has a mind of its own. As soon as it's done, it starts over again. The dishes in the dishwasher went through at least three washing cycles today.

I don't believe anyone who says that sneezing with your eyes open is possible. (ahem...ALYSSA.)
If you believe this is possible, I challenge you to make a video of you (or someone you know) sneezing with your/their eyes open and then send it to me. Maaaybe then, and only then, will I reconsider my position.

I watched Phantom of the Opera for the first time this past weekend (which is especially sad since I actually own the DVD). [In case you were wondering...I thought it was interesting...still actually trying to decide how I feel about it. haha. But the music is beautiful-no question about that.]

In exactly one week I will be headed home to CA for THANKSGIVING! :)

Yousday Tuesday!

(Deepest apologies for the lack of a yous-day tuesday post last week--it was a BUSY week!
And this week I'm afraid is just as busy...)

I went to True Blue this year! (See picture above.) WOOHOO! (It was actually a few weeks ago, but I finally tracked down this picture.) That means I can officially cross it off my BYU Bucket List. I'm not opposed to going at least one more time while being at BYU, but I've now gone twice in 4 years and I'm pretty content with that :)

A work music video is currently in production! ...check back in a couple days and it very well may be posted here for your viewing pleasure :)

I typically prefer snow over rain (and it looks like it's going to start snowing soon).

I've secretly always wanted a (fake) brown leather jacket, and finally got one this past weekend! (I'm sure I'll post pics eventually ;))

I actually love cleaning checks!

It takes me (on average) 10 minutes to completely curl my hair. (The Conair 1 inch curling iron is magical I tell you.)

I can blow spit bubbles. (TMI? Eh, some people think it's kinda cool.)

The radio in my car is broken and I actually kinda like it that way.

I still have trouble distinguishing the difference between "affect" and "effect."

I've never been very good at remembering birthdays.

I'm going to Colorado this weekend!!!!! :) It will be fun to get out of Provo with some friends. I'll probably blog about that too...yet another reason to check back later!

Welp...back to homework it is :/

Oh what a life I live,

PS The guy with me in the pic above is a friend from JERU, and no we are not holding hands even though it totally looks like we are. haha.

the BYU bucket list.

This week's YOUSDAY-TUESDAY will include the things that I've always wanted to do/will do while at BYU (not to worry, I strategically arranged to graduate a few years late, just to ensure I will have ample time to accomplish all of these things ;)).

hike the Y
hike the Y during the official "Y lighting ceremony" (Homecoming week)
take an ice skating class (x2)
go skiing or snowboarding
attend general conference at the conference center
ipod dance party in the library
participate in a dinner group
float down the Provo River
ride in a golf cart on Campus
be on the jumbotron during a football game
get a free t-shirt from a football game
be quoted and/or photographed in The Universe (BYU's newspaper)
eat a meal at the hospital cafeteria, just for fun
get paid to participate in a BYU study
go on a study abroad
sample food from the test tasting lab in the Eyring
drive through the Alpine Loop during Fall just 'cuz it's pretty :)
camp out for the 4th of July
watch a movie at the international cinema
Comedysportz
Vocal Point concert
$2 Tuesdays at Thanksgiving point  (would definitely do that one again)
go to True Blue football 2x
Haunted corn maze
go to the roof of the SWKT
eat dinner at Gloria's Little Italy  (10/5/13)
watch the sunset from provo canyon

I just realized "graduate" isn't actually on the list...hahahhaaha. Well. at least I know where my priorities are, right? ;) (JUST KIDDING mom and dad :) 'graduate' is a given)!

I imagine that I'll be adding to this list...but at least it's a start!
(sad that it's taken me so long to finally compile one.)

Oh what a life I'm livin',

Yous-Day Tuesday.

Well aren't you a lucky bunch!
You get to know a few more interesting (or maybe not interesting) facts about yours truly!
(I just have to post this quickly so it's still tuesday....)

-I literally cannot look at this picture (above) without laughing. It's just so funny and awkward and I look like such a loner. hahahhahaa. I don't even know why I think it's so funny, it just is! Sometimes I look at it when I need to laugh. (And yes I am chuckling to myself right this very second.)

-I never know what to say when people compliment my freckles (...it's kind of a weird compliment).

-I get paid to drive a golf cart and tell people about how great BYU is. (In all honesty I would probably do that for free...but why not get paid for it?!)

-Recent addiction: thrifting. I've always heard wonderful things about it, but I'm finally on board. ...I've gone three times in the last month!

-Traveling to Germany is high on my "bucket list."

-Most of my weird quirks I attribute to the fact that I am left handed.

-If I had $1300 to spare I would buy a Canon- Rebel EOS 60D18-200IS 18.0-Megapixel DSLR Camera. (Or something along those lines. hahaha.) (I got to take some pictures on my friend's camera the other day and it was a life changing experience...from googling what I remember about that camera this is what I found.)

-I have a super power: the ability to sleep anytime, anywhere. Tried, tested and true. Promise.

-I do my best work under pressure.

Check back tomorrow for a post about my fun [mud] filled Saturday!

"Yousday Tuesday" *No Copyright Infringement Intended ;)

On one of the many blogs I follow, the girl posts a list of facts about herself every Tuesday.
(I'm not entirely sure why she calls it "Yousday Tuesday" but I'm just going with it.)
Since I always find her posts interesting, I decided to try it out myself
:)

Tutku Cookies (as shown above) were my not-so-secret addiction in Jerusalem. Nutella INSIDE a cookie?! Genius.

One of my biggest pet peeves is when men don't wear their wedding rings.

People tell me I look like a Whoo (from The Grinch) on a fairly regular basis.

I LOVE making TO DO lists. (I purposely put things on them that I've already done just so I can check them off.)

I think raisins are the worst thing that could have ever happened to trail mix...and to oatmeal cookies.

I'm pretty good at remembering people's faces, but terrible at remembering names.

I am willing to go to great lengths for free stuff (including 3 different locations to track down free Papa Johns Pizza at last week's ward FHE activity).

When I don't feel like doing homework (which is more often than I should admit) I am likely watching TV episodes on Hulu or reading other people's blogs. (Facebook doesn't hold my attention very long nowadays, blog-stalking has become much more entertaining.)

French toast is one of my favorite things in the whole world, I have a whole board dedicated to it on pinterest.

I love filling out surveys. One time I won $100 for the BYU Bookstore just because I completed a survey. WAHOO!

Videos of the Jerusalem Center make me incredibly nostalgic. Pictures surprisingly not so much, but videos..."Oh my heart."

Well there you have it folks, 11 random facts you may-or-may-not have known about me :)

Check back next Tuesday and maybe (if you're lucky) I'll post a few more!
