Muddy Buddies.

After getting back from Jerusalem, a bunch of us JC kids, decided to all do the "Dirty Dash" together in Midway this past Saturday.

We chose to go with an "80s Workout" themed wardrobe.
After a few trips to D.I. I think we were lookin' pretty good!

(...Apparently Jen and Tucker didn't get "no smiling" the memo.)

(As you can see...I opted to keep my hair and face mostly away from the mud...Apparently I'm not as daring as the others.)

Am I glad I did it? Yes.
Was it unlike anything I've ever done before? YES!
Would it do it again? ....Probably not.

But hey, like they say: YOLO
 (You Only Live Once)
so I'm glad I was able to get this experience in ;)

Yous-Day Tuesday.

Well aren't you a lucky bunch!
You get to know a few more interesting (or maybe not interesting) facts about yours truly!
(I just have to post this quickly so it's still tuesday....)

-I literally cannot look at this picture (above) without laughing. It's just so funny and awkward and I look like such a loner. hahahhahaa. I don't even know why I think it's so funny, it just is! Sometimes I look at it when I need to laugh. (And yes I am chuckling to myself right this very second.)

-I never know what to say when people compliment my freckles (...it's kind of a weird compliment).

-I get paid to drive a golf cart and tell people about how great BYU is. (In all honesty I would probably do that for free...but why not get paid for it?!)

-Recent addiction: thrifting. I've always heard wonderful things about it, but I'm finally on board. ...I've gone three times in the last month!

-Traveling to Germany is high on my "bucket list."

-Most of my weird quirks I attribute to the fact that I am left handed.

-If I had $1300 to spare I would buy a Canon- Rebel EOS 60D18-200IS 18.0-Megapixel DSLR Camera. (Or something along those lines. hahaha.) (I got to take some pictures on my friend's camera the other day and it was a life changing experience...from googling what I remember about that camera this is what I found.)

-I have a super power: the ability to sleep anytime, anywhere. Tried, tested and true. Promise.

-I do my best work under pressure.

Check back tomorrow for a post about my fun [mud] filled Saturday!

"Yousday Tuesday" *No Copyright Infringement Intended ;)

On one of the many blogs I follow, the girl posts a list of facts about herself every Tuesday.
(I'm not entirely sure why she calls it "Yousday Tuesday" but I'm just going with it.)
Since I always find her posts interesting, I decided to try it out myself
:)

Tutku Cookies (as shown above) were my not-so-secret addiction in Jerusalem. Nutella INSIDE a cookie?! Genius.

One of my biggest pet peeves is when men don't wear their wedding rings.

People tell me I look like a Whoo (from The Grinch) on a fairly regular basis.

I LOVE making TO DO lists. (I purposely put things on them that I've already done just so I can check them off.)

I think raisins are the worst thing that could have ever happened to trail mix...and to oatmeal cookies.

I'm pretty good at remembering people's faces, but terrible at remembering names.

I am willing to go to great lengths for free stuff (including 3 different locations to track down free Papa Johns Pizza at last week's ward FHE activity).

When I don't feel like doing homework (which is more often than I should admit) I am likely watching TV episodes on Hulu or reading other people's blogs. (Facebook doesn't hold my attention very long nowadays, blog-stalking has become much more entertaining.)

French toast is one of my favorite things in the whole world, I have a whole board dedicated to it on pinterest.

I love filling out surveys. One time I won $100 for the BYU Bookstore just because I completed a survey. WAHOO!

Videos of the Jerusalem Center make me incredibly nostalgic. Pictures surprisingly not so much, but videos..."Oh my heart."

Well there you have it folks, 11 random facts you may-or-may-not have known about me :)

Check back next Tuesday and maybe (if you're lucky) I'll post a few more!

Scared Silly

Tomorrow I will be teaching a kindergarten class for P.E.
Only 30 minutes...it can't be that bad right?!

I'm terrified.

Who knew Kindergarteners could be so scary?
(They're really not, I'm just a scardy-cat.)

At least I have my whistle, and my very official-looking picture badge complete with finger print...
So if nothing else....I'll LOOK legit :)

Labor Day: DIY

You know you've all seen those amazing things on Pinterest that you pin and have every intention of actually using later, but in reality you know darn well that you're never actually going to get around to doing them...

Well, FINALLY I can feel like one of those LEGIT crafty pinterest people!

WAHHhooooo!

It all started when Jamie and I decided that we needed to jazz up our living room.
We brainstormed for hours (literally hours) on layouts and designs, and then tried different things until we found the best option (thanks to Alyssa Evans..love that girl).

Then on to the fun part! DECORATING!
We decided that on one wall of the living room each of the roommates would make the first letter of their name (decorated however they want) and put them in matching frames.

(Que Pinterest.)

This is the idea that I saw/fell in love with:

Before long, Jamie (my partner in crime/roommate) and I, were off to Walmart to buy the needed supplies!!

Then we set to work!

It took HOURS.

But I have to admit, I was pretty proud of the final product :)

Though I'll be first to point out its many flaws AND though I didn't get a SINGLE homework assignment done, I would say today was pretty productive :)

(Jamie's adorable 'J' is made out of yarn.)

I'll be sure to put up another picture once the other girls have theirs' (Ican'tdecideifthereshouldbeanapostrophethereornot..) done!

Oh what a life I live,

Wedding-ding-ding.

Since I am now a SENIOR year at BYU, I've had more than a few friends get married over the past couple years ;)

However, it wasn't until just recently that I had one of my BEST FRIENDS get married.

On Thursday August 23, my best friend/cousin/ex-roommate, Madi, became a MRS.

I thought that this would be a weird experience for me, since we've been so close over the years, but surprisingly it wasn't. It was just a fantastic, wonderful day and I was so happy be able to share this day with her.

Madi has always been such a great example to me. I have always looked up to her (figuratively..obviously ;)) and she is someone who I know will always instantly brighten my day. We plan to be BFFL (best friends for life) and already dream about the vacations that our future families will take together someday :) (...Mckay, I hope that doesn't come as a shock...)

The past few months have been especially challenging for her and I have just been amazed watching her make important decisions with prayer and fasting and pondering AND FAITH.

I am so happy that she and Mckay were able to be sealed for time and all eternity in the Draper LDS Temple.

                                  (then &&& now)

I LOVE YOU MAD, and I am very excited to be able to get to know you better, Mckay! :)

GSBL.

Time is flying and school is already back in full swing.

Buuut I have blog posts to catch up on....so here I go!

BEAR LAKE.

While IN Jerusalem, plans and preparation for a "JERU RENUNION" were already in the works.

Luckily I was able to get my work hours covered so I was able to join in on this splendid-fun couple days at the lake with my jeru friends.

I had the pleasure of traveling to Bear Lake with my wonderful Jerusalem roommates :)
T-Bone volunteered to drive and even though her car's air conditioning was broken we had a blast chatting (well..yelling so we could hear each other over the open windows/sunroof) and singing along at the top of our lungs to T-Swift's new song :)
(If you don't know what song i'm talking about click here.)

Bonnie wanted to stop in Brigham City at a ice cream shop that is one of her dad's favs called "Peach City." In order to get to said ice cream shop we drove right next to the Brigham City Temple which is  currently giving tours since it has not yet been dedicated.

On a spur of the moment decision we ended up in the temple parking lot, digging through our bags, and pulling out clothes that were appropriate for the temple. Next thing we knew we were waiting in line to go inside!!

It was so fun being able to walk through this beautiful building with some of my favorite people in the whole world.

(These photos were not taken by me, the one on the right is from a FOX article about the temple so I'm assuming it's okay to use..to see more pictures go here.

After a few hours there and then some milkshakes from Peach City we were again on our way!

Bear Lake was SO MUCH FUN.

It was great to see so many familiar JC faces again. It's amazing how much we feel like a family.

And nothing says 'family' like a little friendly competition ;)

During the few days we participated in some OLYMPIC GAMES including:

Volleyball
Badminton
Jerusalem Trivia
(questions ranged from Name all the faculty children at the JC to What was the Mesha Stele and why was it significant?)
and my personal favorite:
Synchronized Swimming

The 2 hours of preparation before the competition (and horrible red lipstick) paid off when, "Room 408" (Danielle, Alyssa, Bonnie, and I) received the GOLD medal!!!

I left the reunion early to get to a certain special person's wedding reception (see post to follow shortly), but I was SO happy that it worked out for me to go and spend some time with these wonderful people:
